The story of Christina Iversen Studio

The story of Christina Iversen Studio

Christina Iversen Studio was founded in 2020 by Christina Iversen and is a creative universe where the beauty of nature is combined with timeless design. Christina Iversen Studio creates design with a deep love for the sea, based on the principle of “ocean therapy”, an anchoring in the calm pace found by the water.

Christina Iversen Studio is a quiet proposal for a more present approach to design and form. An aesthetic gesture that is felt as much as it is seen, and which takes its starting point in the Scandinavian lifestyle - the sea as therapy and sustainable well-being, now and for a long time.

In collaboration with ceramic designer and artist Dorte Kristoffersen, the products are created with a focus on Danish design and craftsmanship. All designs are functional and created to be used.

Christina Iversen Studio's ceramic designs are created in porcelain by skilled hands, respectively on Bornholm and in Kolding. Each design is unique, and there may therefore be variation in the distinctiveness of the products.

Sea therapy

Sea therapy

For me, the sea is a sanctuary. When I step into the sand and feel the cold water envelop my body, I find a calm that anchors me. The sea helps me to land in my body, regulate my nervous system and create balance in my mind. That is what I call ocean therapy - a simple but powerful way to find my way back to myself. The same feeling is repeated in my products. The ceramics are shaped so that they fall naturally in the hand. They should provide peace when you hold them and reflect the silence and balance that Christina Iversen Studio is built on. The jewelry is created in the same spirit. They are calm, simple and natural to wear. Designed as small anchors in everyday life - a form of sustainable well-being that you can take with you, no matter where you are.

About Christina Iversen

I originally trained as a hairdresser, and it has always been natural for me to work with my hands and have an eye for the small details. I think that is where my love for the aesthetic and the sensual stems from - seeing an idea take shape, creating something with presence and patience. Even though I am not the one who turns the clay myself, there is a clear thread between my previous craft and the universe I have built here.

As a mother, I have experienced how everyday life can be both loving and chaotic at the same time. That is why it is so important to me to create space for calm, for those little breaks where you can breathe and just be . It is in those moments that I find inspiration - and that is the feeling I want my products to convey.

The Conch Cup was the first. It was created from an idea of form and feeling - and it quickly took on a life of its own. In a short time, it found its way into many hands and homes and became the beginning of a universe where everyday life can feel a little more beautiful, a little more calm and a little more present.

From the kitchen table to Jægergårdsgade

In the beginning, everything took place at home at the kitchen table. That's where the goods were packed, labels were handwritten, and Konkylie Koppen found its way to the first customers. It was a small business, but it was so close to me because it was part of my home and my life. It wasn't far from idea to action.

My children helped when it came to folding cardboard boxes or putting labels on them. The kitchen table was rarely just a place where we ate dinner - it was also a packing table, a work table, a place where dreams were folded with tissue paper. There was chaos and love in equal parts, but also a feeling that together we were building something that grew day by day.

At one point, there was just no more space. Every shelf, every corner in the house was filled with cups, boxes and ideas that needed more air. That's when I decided to take the next step - and that's how the showroom on Jægergårdsgade came into being.

A street with life, creativity and personality - and a place that now feels like a natural extension of everything that started at home at the kitchen table.
